Levi's Curve ID Jeans

WWD had an article on Levi's Curve ID last August 9th. It reminded me of this body scanner at the mall that I worked retail at five years ago. It was Intellifit. I stood in the middle of a booth, held my arms out and these red lasers spun around me and did their thing. A few seconds later, out comes a print out and a card with a bar code suggesting my sizes for tops, different fit bottoms (pants and denim), dresses for a few specialty chain brands that participated or maybe sponsored Intellifit. I thought the technology was sooo cool in a nerdy kind of way. So off I went to the stores to check accuracy. Tops of course are always easier. Bottoms, specially denim are always, always a struggle. Intellifit though pretty much got it down. I kept my Intellifit card but my googling has proved futile. They must have changed company names.

Levi's has used a similar 3D scanning technology in their newly launched denim offering.

Here's their SVP of Merchandising & Design discussing the new system.

Wow, 54% of women try on at least 10 pairs before getting even slightly close to the one? I'm nodding to that! It can be such an ordeal! When I find a pair that fits, I semi-hoard! Levi's claims that their Slight Curve, Demi Curve and Bold Curve IDs represent 80% of women. They're in the best position to make the claim! After all, Levi's INVENTED jeans right? I love it when brands take consumer insights and feedbacks to heart so I'm going to find me a Levi's store and give these a shot soon!

I'm hopeful! It's hard enough finding the one, we can at least have help with THE ONE in jeans! =)=) Toink! Good lucky girls!!!!

- the one that elongates
- the one that doesn't gape in the waist
- the one that enhances your butt
- the one that is the right length (for heels & flats)
- the one that doesn't cost an arm and both your legs
etc.... etc....

Teen Vogue's Gone Mobile Too

Lucky was in on it first, now Teen Vogue's followed suit. They had a full page ad on WWD a couple of days ago. Of course they're tapping the most connected market of them all - the young ones!

I entered the contest to win an iPad. Hey... You never know! =) Start downloading your tag reader from here. It looks like we're going to digitally interact with print magazines more!

Magazines Gone Interactive Via Mobile Tags!

I was flipping through Lucky February 2010 a few weeks ago when I noticed a new magazine 'feature'. It has gone interactive by mobile tagging!

This was the article on picking the right jeans that I was reading and that's the tag on the bottom left. Simply put, you download an app for your phone (Lucky said to download from Gettag.mobi), scan a 2D bar code printed on the page and voila, a video tutorial of the do's and don'ts of buying denim launched. I eagerly looked for other bar codes in the magazine. I learned how to wear a shirt in at least three ways and got hairstyling tips from a live person on video. Coolness. You can't help but feel 'involved' LOL. It's just something extra you know?

I googled and learned more about this interactive technology on Microsoft Tag. Read more about it here

This must be how print media's keeping up with the digital times. Keep your eyes open for those tags! A discount or promotion might just be a scan away.

Twitter Overcapacity

I logged in a few minutes ago and was met with this page. Cute illustration! =) I didn't think I'd cave in. Now, I'm completely hooked and developing iPhone-itis as we speak.

To Read Or To E-Read?

I see A TON of people reading as a way to shut the world out in my daily commute. More and more e-book readers are in their hands. The most popular model I see is the Kindle by Amazon versus the Sony Reader.

Now, category killer Barnes & Noble released nook.

Sleek. I want one.

But, I'm lukewarm about the idea of not having a tangible book in my hands when I go on I'm a bookworm mode. I like the feel and smell of the pages. I like turning them. I'm guilty of dog ears. I want my wall of books!! With a ladder and all.

To read or to e-read? BOTH!

Beam Me Up, Scotty

Did you guys see the hologram thing on CNN's election coverage last night??

First it was the touch screen/magic wall gadget that John King would explain maps with which I think debuted when we were voting in the primaries. Now, they can beam people in and out with HD cameras. Looks like this catch phrase from Star Trek's now a reality.

e-Life

I'm editing my flickr site. I have two now, one's from ages ago which I plan on getting rid of and the other one brand new for my yahoo photos migration. It's taking me forever to organize and add things.

Can you ever go back to life without youtube, wiki, blog providers, photo sharing sites, google etc... etc...? I don't think anybody can unless they live under a rock in the middle of Wyoming.

Ok. I shouldn't say that about where I was born at. But you get what I mean. I'm just glad my parents brought me to Manila and raised me there. haha :)
