Do you guys have a comfort food place?
I have one! There's a tiny Japanese place called Happy Teriyaki/Batten Ramen (not sure which is the correct name as the sign has both) that's about a 10 minute drive from our house. I'm ALWAYS there. I go alone most of the time as I like taking my time in this restaurant. The choices aren't extensive and the prices are affordable. I hardly spend over $10 for a meal. They have mangga and magazines you can pore over too.
Here's what I usually eat: Mini Katsu Curry and Gyoza which they make in-house. I really like the pickled radish. I ask this way: "Can I have more of the red stuff?" as the Japanese term always, always escapes me no matter how many times I've made a mental note. They serve this hot tea too that I tend to crave for when the temperature dips. They serve chicken teriyaki (duh) and different types of ramen as well. But these are my choices.
Here's a shot of the interior:

Here's an old couple reading mangga: cute ba or hindi lang sila nag-uusap? HEHE
