It's American Flag Day (daw!) and a lot if not ALL stores have some sort of major sale on so we made sure to be early at Macy's to beat the impending crowd. My mom was after cookery and kitchen stuff. We got a toaster, a smoothie maker, a rice cooker, cast iron skillets, colanders and a 40-pc. drinking glass set. I also threw in a pair of khaki short shorts.. tsk tsk! ;) Everything we bought was at least 50% off. My mom scored big time. We still need a lot of stuff though. Once my brother and sister-in-law moves out to their house, we won't even have a sofa or decent tv set. hahaha ;)
It's amusing how frenetic and seemingly caffeinated most women are during sales. They (even me?) become the ultimate bargain radars. Eyes are like scanners. When in line or carrying around a good buy, you'd get stop by some lady asking where you got what you're lugging around to which you immediately launch a series of discount price tag details. Kids who should be sitting happily being pushed around in their strollers are forced to walk holding mommy's hand because the stroller has to be converted to a shopping cart. I hardly looked at the women's clothing and accessory sections. It was just oo packed! They're always be some sort of sale later on anyhow ;)
After the sale hoopla, we stopped by Tasti-d-lite for some yummy sundaes on the way home. I had the Chocolate Macaroon topped with carob chips. YUM! =) But I almost lost my appetite when this young man entered the store with his girlfriend and he had painted toe nails. Eeww... What made it ickier was they were bright red!!! How can you miss that??? I noticed a few people looking at him weirdly too. hahaha!!! His gf probably bugged him to death to let her paint them. I don't mind guys who have pedis but paint them? and in red??? ICK!
