The Weekend With My Buddy MS

I had a blast with one of my real good friends this weekend. We've known each other since we were four or five years old. Oceans separated us then but we've always been able to stay in touch. He had training for work in NJ so it made sense to meet up for the weekend. We hit the outlets in upstate New York last Friday and boy oh boy can he shop. He LOVES to shop. I love it! I learned new things about guy outfitting do's and don'ts from him. After the Woodbury marathon, we hit Garden State Plaza to do even more shopping. By the time we were done, it was time for dinner so off to The Cheesecake Factory we went. We had Thai Lettuce Wraps, Pasta Da Vinci and Bistro Shrimp Pasta which were all d-i-v-i-n-e. After dinner I drove him to City Place in Edgewater so we could get a good view of the City and talk. Yesterday, we had lunch at Minado with his relatives who lived in Jersey, went to Costco and Target for his store checks. Picked up my brother and sis-in-law and headed to the City to eat at Serendipity. The wait was over an hour so we hit Urban Outfitters, H&M, and Zara to kill time. The food as always is yummy particularly the Forbidden Broadway Sundae. Went to the World Trade Center site and walked around World Financial Center Battery Park Place. The timing was impeccable. I found out about the crazy job I got in SF and had one of my dearest friends to celebrate it with. He left today and I miss him already. It's so good to catch up on everything that's happening in our lives. It's great to just have somebody you've known forever to talk with and share your hopes and fears. Well anyway, I hope to visit him in Calgary or Vancouver and celebrate our birthdays together this year. It'll be a blast if we get around to doing that. I'll be closer once I move to the West Coast.

Today I am thankful for:
- the weekend that was
- real friendships
