St. Patty's Day

So this is what St. Patrick's Day is all about. Damn. I was in the City and everything and I wonder why it didn't occur to me to watch the parade. Oh well. I was asked a couple of times by people why I wasn't wearing green. People everywhere had something/anything green on. Think scarves, belts, tops, eye shadow, face painting/glitter, silly headbands, beads etc... etc... I missed 'joining' in the hoopla because I didn't know. Hmph! I WILL be Irish next year I promise. Maybe I can get tipsy/drunk too.

I've spent my last two days off with CF. I'm just going to babble or ramble on about it. Tell it as it is.

Last Tuesday, we had lunch at this tiny steak place in Times Square. It was not bad. Headed off to Central Park and just walked and talked. Stared at the Carousel. Walked and talked. Searched for a Starbucks to warm up with coffee/tea since it was getting chilly. It took awhile to find one which was kind of stupid because there is almost, always a Starbucks on every City block. Where is it when you need one?? Anyway, after NOT looking for a few minutes. We finally 'found' one. I missed chai lattes. Walked a few blocks back to Times Square and caught Pink Panther at AMC. Okay. It was uhm kinda bad. It was funny/corny. If you're after shallow laughs. Go ahead. So it's finally dinner time, decided to chow Chinese food. So... got on the train again to China Town. Had this fried flounder thing and roasted duck with 'fly lice'. YUM YUM YUM. Then it was Port Authority Bus Terminal time again.

Yesterday, we hung out in his side of NJ. Jersey City/Pinoy/Flip Town for a bit. Took the train to WTC from Port Authority and then the Path. It was fairly quick. Takes like 10-15 minutes. A weird guy just talked to us from out of nowhere asking if I was still in high school while we were waiting to cross the street. Riiiight. So you're in college? Riiiiight. Here we go again with the "You're out of school? You're 24???" drama. Okay, I'll take this as a compliment. At least when I'm like 50, people would think I'm in my 30s. Yes. Hopefully. Literally pigged out at Fiesta Grill along Newark Ave. on crispy pata, sisig and bangus. My face was so stuffed, I shuffled along like a penguin to his place afterwards. I needed to be dragged along. Gluttony at its finest. So anyway, then it was time for dinner. Just had a fast food chicken salad at the Manhattan Mall food court. Then it was goodbye see you again soon time again. Tata.

I did have a good time. And oh, he surprised me with flowers again. Three nifty soft pink roses. It should have been dyed green to match Patrick's Day. Haha. Just like those 'blue' roses we have back in Manila. Anyway, I appreciate the repeat gesture though. It was sweet.

Okay. I need to start preparing dinner now. Tellmewhatisthis?!

Today I am thankful for:
- chai lattes to semi jolt me awake because I was so ready to pass out from lack of sleep
- getting out of work early on a Saturday for once even if I had to start at eight in the morning
- the sweet smell of roses in my room once again
