After our hearty lunch. We headed to Forever 21. I was on the look out for tunic tees / tops which were nowhere. As usual, we felt disappointed after trying on a zillion things. For some reason, most clothes only look good hung or on probably skinny persons. It's either that or we're just the wrong body type for their fits. I ended up just buying a short-sleeve cherry print thermal hoodie and just a wide belt for Melay.
We've been dying to go to Serendipity's for quite some time. We were still full from Republic but there is ALWAYS room for dessert (particularly chocolate). When we got to the place, it was a pleasant surprise that we only needed to wait for 10-15 minutes for a table. It usually takes hours!!! The last time it took my family close to an hour to get a seated. I made sure Melay tried the famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (their signature dessert). I asked for the Forbidden Broadway Sundae. Oh Happiness. I can seriously deal dying like this. Death by chocolate. It was just pure heaven. We oohed, yummmed and aaahed. Here's evidence of our camwhoring. Just click to to view larger pics.
After experiencing cloud 9, we snooped around the MAC counter at Bloomie's. Melay's expertise and knowledge of their product line is amazing. I've never been a make-up person but Melay has inspired me to give it a shot one of these days. She vows to hold my hand each step of the way. Hahaha! Vanity (make-up wise) after all can be one of my favorite sins. =) Went to Urban Outfitters and H&M to search for skinny jeans. Nothing really jumped at us though. We went to the Gap on 59th and Lex. I noticed how this particular store looked so different from our store. It was a bit snobbish and sophisticated compared to our store. They had denim vaults and really nice fitting rooms. It felt like the ceilings were lower and lighting was dimmer. It had an upscale feel to it. I want our store to look like that. Hehe :) Now, Zara. Zara. Zara. Oh Zara. Let' just say I burned a giant hole in my pocket at Zara. Everything we picked out fit purrfectly like you wouldn't believe. Melay!!! Oh shoot. Must behave. Must behave later on. NOT!
We took the subway but I had to get off before her at 42nd St. so we hugged, said our goodbyes and vowed to do it again real soon. On the bus home, I was thinking how I didn't want the day to end. We had so much fun. Good conversations. Laughs. Giggles. Gossip. Shop. Girls day off / out. Repeats should definitely be on the agenda (especially come Spring!!!).
Today I am thankful for:
