Off

It's my day off from the retail jungle. I just took my mom and sis-in-law's sister out. We went to Ikea, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target, Williams-Sonoma and Jollibee (which I wish was the fast food chain but it's actually a Filipino mini grocery in Bergenfield). I miss eating Chicken Joy. UGH!

Anyways, It's really about time I start focusing on making my room, my sanctuary. I'm pretty much decided on the color of the shelves, where/how they should be mounted and to really get rid of that annoying closet door and replace it with a nifty curtain. I still need a vanity/desk. I can't find one that's small and cute enough to fit my teeny yellow room. I need window treatments. I need photo frames. I need a wall lamp. I need to organize. I need a rug. I need hooks. Ack! One thing at a time, one thing at a time. I want to get it done soon though...

Hmmm... I bought a chocolate brown puffer coat today. It's just in time for the snow storm we're expecting to start tonight. More than 4 inches of snow!!! UGH! My personal term for those fat, sleeping bag-like, marshmallowy, bubble-ish coats/jackets is "michelin" from the Michelin man character from that tire brand. It's been f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g lately and I swear that I see/imagine a gazillion "michelin look-alikes" whenver I see people in these types of coats. My fashion imagination makes sense doesn't it??

My shoti (younger brother) will take me to work tomorrow. They don't trust me to drive in the snow yet. I don't trust myself to drive through it either. Man, now I have to deal with this. They bought me a shovel and a scraper/cleaner to stick in the car. I need to get super warm gloves to leave in the car just in case I actually have to shovel my way out of a parking lot. UGH! ugh! UGH! It was snowing last Saturday in Toronto and while my guy friend and I were in the car, he was semi-teaching me how to drive through snow. I did pay attention but then I couldn't help but laugh to myself at the idea of me dealing with this. I'm just looney that way. A lot of firsts are happening this year indeed. La dee dah. A lot of firsts indeed.

I played my Freestyle (one of the better Filipino bands) CD today. They're really good with love songs. I don't know what I was thinking playing all that sentimental, heartbreak, tear-jerking music. Must be the masochist in me. It was okay at first but then when I started to pay attention to the lyrics, I had to skip some of it. I don't want to end up hitting another car while driving. I guess I'm not ready for that yet. P*nyeta!!! Shake it off! Shake it off!!! Okay, I'm rambling. I'm going to stop and catch up on Rome now.
