A Woman's Scorn

My goodness! Unless you've been hiding under a rock for the past week, you'd have seen footages of Katrina's impact. New Orleans is like a whole other Ground Zero. I try not to watch too much of it or it'll give me nightmares. I have this thing about disasters and tragedies. Anyway, Mother Nature is one good equalizer huh? It chooses no one. I've seen first hand what it can do to third world countries and then now to a super power or first world. It's quite interesting to see how a government responds. I guess it boils down to the government having the resources to use/spend among other things. Right now, it seems like it's a wait and see sort of thing. I hope things get better soon... I pray that nothing like that will ever hit us here in Northern New Jersey. Long live Mardi Gras!!!

Speaking of a woman's scorn, I splurged big time today, I got three pairs of suede pointy toe flats today from j.crew & Kenneth Cole NY. My brother got me the first pair as a birthday gift and I got the two other pairs for myself. Aaaaah... they're just gorgeous!!! I can't decide which one I should wear to work tomorrow. I have to break them in. It's perfect timing because it's bound to be busy, lunatic, busy. They were really comfortable when I practiced walked them at the store. I hope they stay that way! I also got an off-white zip up knit sweater from fcuk. I think I'm not done with my birthday shopping yet, I still need that watch. I have a nifty one picked out already. It's just a matter of getting my next paycheck. Budget! Budget! Hmm... beware of a woman's shopping scorn!
