Anyhow, I just did my laundry, played chauffer to my mom and her friend, semi-organized my fat closet and watched TV all day. We've got a bajillion channels thanks to digital cable but there's still NOTHING to watch. All I see is Ms. Katrina Hurricane kicking New Orleans' behind. I'm not too worried though. I'm sure the Federal Government can take care of things down there. If a typhoon this nuts and angry hits the Philippines.... Tsk Tsk! Sorry, but I have very little faith in my former home's government. Screw our money sucking politicians!!!
How ignoramus of me, I only found out recently that typhoons, hurricanes and cyclones are all alike but are distinguished by their origin courtesy of my walking encyclopedia of a dad. It's amazing just how much he knows about the world. Ask him anything and he is sure to know at least something about it.
- Pacific Ocean - typhoons (visits our beloved Philippines 20+ times a year and gets alphabet names, illicits happiness because of NO CLASSES, causes black/"brown" outs, panic buying of groceries, getting stuck in traffic for hours & hours you wouldn't believe it anymore etc... etc... If you grew up in Manila, you'd know the drill, I miss it to some extent hehe! )
- Atlantic Ocean - hurricanes (Wow! They made evacuation mandatory down there. Katrina is mataray ah!!! )
- Indian Ocean - cyclones (Sorry, I don't have a clue about these things!)
I scored at an antique/flea market yesterday. I got three granny looking vintage purses for under $20 total! YAY! I'm keeping track of a few more market dates, I still need a vanity and a small trunk. I hope I find something unexpected!!!
Okay, that's that for now. I better concentrate chatting with these six people on YM.
