The Art-y Field Trip

Click on Day at the MET for my favorite shots!

Did I enjoy this day or what? I've always wanted to go to The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET). That day, April 20th, was the perfect day for a visit to the Museum. It was bright & cheery. Walking around New York would be pleasant.

Now I get what the deal is about Picassos, Monets & Rembrandts. I'm no art buff or critic but the paintings are exquisite! I like Picasso's work better than the rest. & Roy Lichtenstein's as well. My taste must be Modern Art then???

I liked the Cameo Jewelry, I wanted my very own set. Are their still Cameo Artisans out there? Those would be great heirloom pieces.

I so wanted the Travelling Vanity & Eating table. Now, isn't that both practical and impractical? hehe!

The Temple of Dendur was amazing, that's one giant Lego set! Imagine transferring and building that all the way from Egypt. sheesh!
We lingered around Asian Art more than the others. We must have felt more at home there... That HUGE spiritual wall was really spiritual just by looking at it.
The front of the museum or should I say the facade was undergoing a face lift. I didn't get to take a picture of that & then the Costume Institute was closed. They were preparing for a vintage Chanel exhibition in May. I will go back, it's like the universe is telling me to go back. hehe!

Museums are just great, you never go out without learning something new... I want to go to Guggenheim & the museum at FIT next.
