Be The Buyer at ModCloth

I like browsing ModCloth - a clothing site that started with selling vintage and vintage-inspired pieces by college sweethearts. Although they have since evolved, they have stayed true to heir roots by still adding one vintage item for sale everyday. As I mentioned in my post on Sway, what differentiates ModCloth, is their Be The Buyer program. It works like this. They showcase some of their latest sample designs pre production, we cast our vote, they tally, disclose results, produce the winners and in a few weeks, pieces become available online. I'm thinking because pieces are chosen by would be buyers, items would sell out. Their answer to this? A notify me feature so that you get first dibs!

Dresses are always easy and fun to look at, here's a few that caught my attention.

Loving the innocence and muted color palette!

Prints are always fun!

Not your ordinary solids!

I'm really liking this new strategy that more and more companies are getting into. As someone aspiring to be heavily involved in the industry, it can be a window to what's hot and not in design, color, style, detail and category. As a shopper, we can get exactly what  we want!

Go ahead and see for yourself, be warned though, there are a gazillion designs to choose from every clothing / accessory category! Enjoy becoming a buyer!
