A Christmas Quip

After Christmas Eve's drunken night, I've been indoors the past two - three days. Which is well and good as I would have found myself at the mall getting sucked into the markdown craziness. I must have gained 5 lbs from the inactivity though.

Anyways, I woke up this morning remembering something my mom and dad said at last Wednesday night's dinner.

Dad: Umiinom na mga bata sa harap natin. Hindi nangyari ito kahit kailan sa magulang namin.
Mom: Eh ano ka ba? Iba na ang panahon ngayon eh. COMPUTER generation na no.

We bought my parents tickets to Toronto for their 31st wedding anniversary. Forced getaway. It's about time they took a vacation from us to see their own friends. Inggit ako. I love Toronto. Anyway, let me share two things from last night and today in church.

Last night: I was watching season 1 of Ugly Betty when my mom came into my room and handed me a hammer (yes a hammer). Uhm okay what is this for? My mom said you know just in case! Just in case somebody breaks into our house and you're by yourself at night since Erik (my younger bro) has class or work at night. You'll have something. You'll have pamukpok so hide it under your bed or dresser. Ooh la la. I was laughing my *ss off. Gotta love my momma. She thinks of everything. Kinda makes me want to buy a baseball bat later on. lol.

Today in church: My mom is a diabetic, she has to have candy or anything to not get dizzy from time to time. My dad whipped out a zip plastic bag of squished, disfigured gummy bears from his pocket and handed it to my mom and winked at me. Ha, san galing yan?!? KULET. Parang magician. KULET.

My parents can really be funny. Love them to death. I'm sure Isabel's going to miss them. I hope they have a blast!!!
